Trouble opening .map

I am having trouble opening the .map files on my Mac. I have MacRadiant downloaded and installed, and it works fine, until I save the .map and try to open it later. I have lost hours of work and I don't want to lose any more.

When I try to open the .map, it just opens a new unnamed.map, not with what my original map had, just blank.

So, PLEASE, help me out and you will be greatly rewarded (not really).

Not at all.

I was expecting errors, but nothing...

Edit-->Preferences-->Brush-->Use alternative texture-projection.  Then restart radiant.

I don't have a preferences menu called Brush...

Must be different in GtkRadiant and MacRadiant.
