Problem with server...
« on: June 04, 2009, 01:58:23 am »
When I open terminal and type: ./tremded.ub +set dedicated 2 +exec server.cfg to start up my server, I go into tremulous and do "get new list".

Then all the server names turn to IPs and I can't find my server.

whats the problem? it worked yesterday...

are the names resolving and then turning to ips? or do you just get ips?

there are just a bunch of IPs and Ports like:

78.99.99.99.999:30720 (example)

that is in my favorites. There is nothing in local and under internet it says -1 servers found.

Its not resolving the names through the DNS.

Its not resolving the names through the DNS.

How do I make it do that?

It only shows the IPs if i have my tremded.ub running.

my wild guess is something to do with the tremded using port 30720. try adding +net_port 32123 or something to your startup command and forwarding port 32123

That doesn't work either...

Could it possibly be a problem with the tremded.ub?

If so, how would I fix it?

Sounds like either tremded is stealing the port and the client isn't noticing somehow, or your router sucks and can't tell the difference between the two.
How did you do the port forwarding?  start the client with +net_port 12345

Since I have an apple airport extreme, i opened the application called AirPort Admin Utility and selected my "base station".

Then I went to the selection called Port Mapping I belive and I typed in the public port, my local IP (10.0.1.5 i believe) and then the private port.

Then i clicked update and waited for the base station to restart.

The End.

Just a note to anyone who comes through and reads this.
The private port should be set to the same as the public one.
