Tremfusion 0.99r3 released!

Started by Amanieu, July 05, 2009, 01:14:17 AM

Amanieu

To compensate for the very long delay in releasing Tremfusion 0.99r2, we give you Tremfusion 0.99r3. Have fun!

  • Mac version included.
  • The x86_64 qvm compiler now caches compiled code. For you normal humans, this means that map load is a lot faster on 64bit Linux.
  • New console style, based on XreaL. If you don't like it you can switch back to the old style by setting scr_conUseOld to 1.
  • Comes with a slightly modified version of Lakitu7's qvm for playing and recording server-side demos. Make sure that vm_game is set to 0.
  • /grep was added back.
  • /demo won't disconnect you if the demo file doesn't exist.
  • You can use the +showconsole command-line argument on Windows to spawn an external console.

Download it here: http://www.tremfusion.net/download/

If you are not seeing the Tremfusion menus on startup, try running these commands and then restarting the game:
/reset cl_defaultUI
/reset ui_menuFiles

If you encounter any issues using or installing Tremfusion, do not hesitate to post either here or on our forums, or come by on our IRC channel (#tremfusion on Freenode).

Congratulations, you have earned the Official Baconizer Stamp O' Approval.
Why will you folk not ban me? :'(

Awesome, I do however have to wonder why the mac client download is 100 megs while the windows client download is a mere 4 megs.

Amanieu

Because it contains all of the 1.1 pk3s

danmal

That was my guess however it doesn't really answer the question of why the windows/linux client doesn't also contain all the 1.1 tremulous pk3s. Was there any reason for including the 1.1 pk3s with only the mac client?

Amanieu

The previous Mac packages were very messy, people couldn't figure out how to install them, so I just put everything together for them.

That's weird. I've never had any problems installing Tremfusion using my mac. Thanks for explaining your reasoning though. Would it be possible to provide a smaller zip that doesn't include the 1.1 pk3s for the more "advanced" users. As at the moment it's a bit of a turn off to have to download 100 megs for just a Trem client.

Archangel

the new console is going to take a bit of getting used to

OK, I added a .dmg that doesn't contain the 1.1 pk3s.

Thanks a heap. You might want to fix up your download link though, seems I made you accidently break it.

In the mean time:
MacOSX full is here
MacOSX client only is here

Amanieu

There were some issues with the server list in the previous build. If you experience such issues (wrong pings, server list not showing at all), you should download a new build from here: http://www.tremfusion.net/download/

@danmal: Thanks, I fixed the links

keep up the good work

altho it doesn't seem to cope with 2 clients open well. the second client had graphics glitches

Amanieu

Graphic glitches are probably due to your sucky graphic drivers.

if that was the case fsm should be affected too(haven't noticed any issue with 1 2 even 3 clients open at once).

still TF is really progressing well. keep it up

Amanieu

In that case my only guess is that drivers are messing up because of smp. Try with r_smp set to 0.

Urcscumug

Thanks for adding back /grep. Also, the console looks cool, and, people, there are other scr_* vars you can use to customize the console tint and transparency so give them a try (thanks to the cool auto-completion you can just hit /scr and TAB).

I like things I can tinker with and the TF client offers a lot of that. Short of getting Lua scripting in there, TF is as good as it gets.
New to Tremulous? Look up the Wraths Newbie Server in the in-game server list.

pandapie

uh im having some trouble installing it can anyone help me?

Archangel

it'd help us if you told us what your problem was.  :police:

I have only one problem (the console and menus are awesome....) I cannot use it on the tremulous I use all the time... tremulous backport. When I try and use the .exe file that comes with TF I cannot use my normal SN because it is registered with backport I listed above.... I play on X so I want to keep my one name obviously....

I know this topic is old, but how do i get tremfusion to work on mac? It just says to drag the app to the base folder... Didn't work, i try running it it opens for a milisecond and closes.
