problems with VOLT hud.
« on: July 07, 2009, 11:20:36 pm »
The problem is when I try to start Tremulous, its fine, but when the map changes, I get the message:
ERROR: can't find menu3 ....etc... or something of the sort.
Then, my brother tries to play, and the screen goes white, and doesn't change.
Any help would be appreciated.
UPDATE:
Now, when I try to run Tremulous, screen turns white and nothing happens.
It started with Volt HUD, then I tried installing another HUD (simplicity.) and the same thing happens.

perhaps there is a problem with where you have installed the HUD. Make sure your map files are in base and that your HUD is not interfering with this. If you are downloading a custom map, then you just need to reinstall trem. If all else fails, reinstall tremulous. You'd be surprised how often that works. =DDD

the problem is you installed another hud without uninstalling mine first.

You can fix this by editing the autogen's or buy reinstalling then uninstalling mox's hud.

or just CLICK ME and download
place the files in the right locations and your problem should be fixed.
Put the file named menus.cfg into your base/ui folder
put the file named mox_menu.cfg into your base ui/menu folder
put the file named volt_menus.cfg into your base/ui folder

The error message is this:

Code: [Select]
recursive error after: ^3menu file not found: ui/menus.cfg, using default
So do i need this ^3menu file something or another or does Volt's reply solve the problem?

Uninstall your HUD you were using before. Then install the HUD you want...

I fixed it, THX. I just went to C:\Program Files\Tremulous\ and deleted the Tremulous folder, and then I downloaded the zip and put it on my desktop and it runs fine, thanks for the help.
