placed weapons
« on: July 08, 2009, 02:46:35 am »
I propose that in 1.2 that the developers should create it so that mappers will be able too put weapons into
the map that can be picked up,they would return right away after th user dies,It would also cost him the usual amount.
this would enable mappers to place weapons on walls and racks, their would still be the armory of course and this would only be in maps that mappers decided to place it in. :armoury:

Advanced Map Patch already has this implemented, just wait for the AMP release.

yes but that is a mod and changes other things that we don't want for regal trem
and this would make you pay for it,with credits!
i'm a mapper and would love to be able to do this!

As far as I understad it it doesn't change anything with regular Trem. It just provides more options for mappers.

It sure would be nice if it got released soon. Sure would be nice.

Sorry to just jump in here, but how exactly does AMP work, is it an add on to radiant, or do you have to do some complicated mumbo jumbo to make it work...

And will the smexy destructables be included?

That would probably be easy to do but don't hold me to that as I have no clue.

Or you could just build a repeater and armoury?

And what will be done to balance it out?
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

amp changes the game to objectives not regulur trem game play.you cant build anything (but reapater)
i want to be able to do this  to make game more realistic,it would be the mappers option.
It would not change gameplay either

yourface: I respect you and brain and your mod!
i love playing it,but it's not regulur trem.

This should be feedback or mod idea palace. Also, no.

1. It's not their mod
2. The choice of buildables is chosen by the mapper, not the mod

It is a mod for trem. You know, same as mgdev or others. Needs download to work.

Only thing that needs downloading is the map, the rest is serverside. :P

I was under the impression that the last time I connected my client downloaded a modified qvm. I might be wrong though.

It doesn't. AMP as far as I understand it is no more of a mod then !listplayers is a mod (obvouisly a bit more complicated then listplayers). It simply gives mappers extra options to use and shouldn't affect normal maps at all. That means you can still play a game of ATCS, etc just like normal but also play special maps designed for AMP without changing QVM.

AMP by itself does not change game play. It simply allows mappers to change the game play.

And what will be done to balance it out?

Teams are not symmetrical. Nothing necessarily needs to be added to the aliens to "balance it out" if the idea is implemented well.

Humans already have deployable weapons - jetpacks. As soon as you deploy one, you pretty much don't move, and DON'T attack. Jetpack is humans' third turret.
