Looking for a way to get the tremulous folder into the local folder.

In order to make a server, i must go to the tremulous folder within my local folder in applacation data. Unfortunately for me, i cannot find this folder, it isn't there. If at all possible, could someone explain what i can do to get it in there, and/or what the process is? Possibly a download link for the missing files?

step 3, sub-section 3. I look inside of my "C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\" folder, as directed and as i explained as the first post in this thread, and it is not there, the files are missing. I was asking if anyone knew if there was a way to bring the tremulous folder up, perhaps for me to install the missing files. Someone suggested an alternative client but the alternative clients are broken into pieces and do not explain the locations in which they are supposed to be moved to.

<Main>  ==  "C:\Program Files\Tremulous"
<User>  ==  "C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous"

Take the data from <Main> and copy it to <User> if it's missing in <User>.

says there should be, at the most, 3 files in the tremulous folder (that are not servers).


I don't know if i should copy and paste the entire folder or find out what the three files i need are.

Did eveerything you said. Unfortunately, even after installing the files, i am still experiencing a problem.

I just got done doing that, and it braught up all the locations except for the newly imported tremulous folder in the hidden applications/local folder.

Ok friend, assuming that your windows have a single user and you installed tremulous under that user. Better to have admin previllage to your account too. It should be here:
"C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous"
During installation or extraction, did you do it sucesfuly?

Take the data from <Main> and copy it to <User> if it's missing in <User>.

Do *NOT* do that.  The data in <user> is all created when tremulous runs, putting the data from <main> in there will just cause problems.
If it's not saving stuff to <user> then it's saving it elsewhere, do /fs_homepath in the console to find where.

it said that the fs is C:program files\Tremulous and says the exact same thing for the secondary location. i think the program files is the only tremulous folder i have.

usually when i setup a trem server i set them up as so:

       mapconfigs -\
           default.cfg


in order to keep things clean. there is no problem using the .tremulous directory as both the static and the dynamic directory.

only if you know how tremulous loads files from the filesystem/pk3s, otherwise you can get the wrong file loaded and in extreme cases cause the server to crash.
