Hello everyone, I haven't been playing tremulous for a couple of years and now I felt like playing again.
I was wondering what everyone generally is using, I mean should I download tjw's backport (http://trem.tjw.org/backport/) or is there something newer I should use instead?

Thanks :)

Iceman

Backport is very usefull and oblige to download map more quickly. So use it without any doubt !
BUT..this link is old (but works good) and i suggest you to use this link. If you have some problems, use "search" function in forum.

So using the Mercenariesguild Client is a better choice? I guess it has TJW's features but what else is new?
Am I supposed to download all the .DLL files too and put them in the installation directory?

David

Yep, you need the dll's in the same folder.
It has all the stuff in TJW's build, as well as lots of other new stuff that's been added sense then.
The full list of stuff is here: http://releases.mercenariesguild.net/client/mg-client-manual.txt

I'm disappointed that people's past actions have forced me to state what should be obvious.

Thanks for the help Iceman and David :)

Hi Guys,

Sorry for being stupid, I want to update my version of tremulous as well using the link.  What do I do exactly?  like step by step, as I am having difficulty working on TJW's instructions on updating.  Please help....

David

Go to http://releases.mercenariesguild.net/client/win32/ and download everything there to C:\Program Files\Tremulous (or wherever you installed trem)
Then rename your current tremulous.exe to tremulous.old and rename tremulous.x86.exe(that you just downloaded) to tremulous.exe
