about Lighting & my first experiments
« on: July 13, 2006, 07:51:08 pm »
I have played this game for some 20 hours for now, and I think it's cool if the teamplay works. Reading these forums helped me a lot when I was still learning things, you should really add some link to game documentation.

One thing I noticed lately when I was experimenting with settings: Many maps are difficultly dark, especially with laptop screen. Gamma correction just makes things look ugly. Then I tried changing lighting quality setting from vertex to the high quality setting. It costed me 10 fps (I had 25-30 now I have 15-20...) but now I can see everything clearly even in darker maps.
I don't know what could be done about this, just telling about my experiments.. Maybe someone else has some suggestions?
