Windows experts?
« on: October 21, 2009, 11:10:21 am »
So, when you unplug your ethernet cable or disable your "Local Area Connection" in the "Network Connections" dialog, Windows has this annoying feature of immediately resetting all of your TCP connections.

Does anyone know if there is an obscure registry key or something to disable this functionality?

It works fine for me. If I have putty open and I accidentally unplug my cable, and plug it back in, putty stays connected.

Cool, that works for when you unplug the cable (though not if you actually disable the connection; I guess that's fair enough). Cheers gimhael. Does posting on the forum make me crazed, Scimitar? Actually, it probably does. Also, for the record:

Why am I not surprised a certain someone has the latest post in the trash pile?  ::)

For what it's worth, posts that people delete themselves end up there too, so it's as much bad posts we modded as people who posted and then thought better of it. :)
