What to do against general assholes?

Okay, the last few days, i've noticed some guys wearing [US] tags and being a general pain in the ass.
Ex:
There was an alien named Nukage who played extremely well.
These [US] guys couldn't stop yelling stuff like 'fucking jew', 'go fuck your mom's anus' 'fucking nerdy prick' and so on.

People like this make me go berserk, what can you do against them?
Is a kick and or ban too harsh? (i've mostly seen rules about griefing, not about swearing)

Mute, and if they start TK'ing then kick, and if keep repeating then ban for a couple of days.. So on.

Take names and talk to the admin. A lot of admins probably wouldn't put up with that kind of thing, and if they see those people logged in they could make a note to go in and watch them to see if they are doing it again... maybe dish out some bans...
The whole internet gaming thing is so full of that kind of stuff its bewildering..

As far as playing with them in game.... just kill them.. that will shut them up

If they are just talking trash, ignore them. If they are ruining games, get screenshots, condumps and demos and contact an admin.

Well I'd remove them from the server if they used any racist language/insults like that.

And yes, nukage is very good at killing players. He needs to work on his base attacking skills though

Kindof off topic, but I just had an encounter with a deconner which was pretty amusing and worth mentioning in a thread about dealing with assholes.

We were lucky. It was about 5 per side on the zero-admin Game Arena servers, playing as alien, we'd just got stage 2 and a couple of us spawned as grangers to make a booster. While I was enroute from the default alien base on arachnid to the pipes near the cargo room, a deconner using the name 'terrorist' turns up and takes out the entire alien base. I'm seeing the build points go up to 90, so someone got an egg in, I hit tab and see that 4 of the 5 alien  team are in as grangers. So, I built an overmind in the regular spot on the pipes and let everyone know theres a deconner in chat. Before long the deconner finds the new OM and decons it.

Instead of starting a callvote kick or an argument, I just pointed out that we were all grangers, so he might as well go somewhere else (not quite that politely) He disconnected without saying a word.

Of course he came back in 5 or 10 minutes, but by that time we had 2 tyrants and an adv. goon working together and it was all too late for the poor humans. He disconnected again, didn't even have to be told. =)

If they are talking any racist or religonist comment, mute instantly. If they change their name to be offensive, a week long ban is good.

Problem is there are barely any admins around
I have to go and ask for an admin which can take up to 30m.

General assholes just want attention and to piss people off, so ignore them if you're not an admin. Speaking to them will cause them to increase their efforts to piss you off specifically. When I am an admin I like to keep kicking them (although I could ban, it's funnier to keep kicking them when they reconnect and easier than choosing an IP to remove from g_banlist   ).
