Screen Brightness Problem
« on: October 28, 2009, 01:59:16 pm »
Everytime i start it up, its always dark...

when i start a game i go to options and change the brightness...but it says its already at full brightness, and when i slide the brighness scale to the bottom and back up again its brightens up....but still its not the brightest...

and when i go out of fullscreen the screen is bright ( the brightness i want) and when i put it in fullscreen it goes baqck to dark again...

I have no idea whats happenening..

Thanks if anyone knows how to solve this issue...

1. Double posting on this forum is a no no.

2. Up at the right part of your page there is a search box. Type "brightness" in it and click search. There are more than enough topics regarding the same exact problem.

If you still can't figure it out, then post back here. Preferably in only one post.

Actually I think it might be a driver issue. Something about not being able to set a gamma ramp or something similar to that. I'm sure other people can explain this better.

That means it can change brightness... The slider only goes to r_gamma value of 2, you can try typing "/r_gamma 3" in console (open with ~ key, below Esc; 3 is the highest value). Although that might cause the colors to seem washed out, so if you really want the problem solved:
What operating system? (Windows XP/Vista/7 ?, Mac? Linux?)
Did you install any graphics drivers? What graphics card do you have?

Another way to do it:

Right  click on the trem.exe (what you click to start the game)
Hit properties
Hit compatibility
Make sure the "Run this program in compatibility for..." box is checked
Click on the drop down menu and hit Windows XP
