Booster pic & movie
« on: January 04, 2002, 06:42:00 am »
I'm going on a 10 day vacation back east so this is a tide over.

A capture from a small movie of the booster and the movie itself. The movie may look a little odd, it's 3 sequences tied together , the idle, death and dead. The fps is controlled by a config in Trem so it's not that fast and jerky. This guy is about the size of a pony in the game.

And requiring DivX:

Booster Avi

Enjoy

Kinda reminds me of those monsters from the movie "Tremors". No, not the sequel, with those lame bi-ped, heat-seeking, douchebag screamers. Im talking about the big ass fuckers who'd tunnel through the ground and pull you through the floor, and suck your friend through a tire. Now THATS fucking hilarious.

Excellent model though. Im still watching and waiting.

I might incorporate that head design into another alien - then this one would be considered the larva. The booster isn't currently playable.

I was wondering how that thing would crawl around.

I just don't have the quality of work Veda has, I ended up ditching the majority of my work as a result to keep the quality of my models high enough for Tremulous.

If you were implying that I do have more time than Veda, I'd disagree. 5 months ago? Yes, I had plenty of time, but now I lack time for anything other than school or work related responsibilities. I haven't touched this computer, for more than 15 minutes at a time, in months.

In five years or so when you have a full time job or are studying for a degree or whatever, you're going to look back on your life now and think "FUCK. Who was I kidding?". I can tell you now - yourself. High school (and part time job etc) is nothing compared to the hell University or a full time job will put you through.

That last statement just isn't true and you know it. I could prove it, but i'd be wasting my time.

If you still think time is a good excuse, you're more delusional than I thought.

What's your deal?

Could I make time for the computer if I really wanted to? Yes, with some effort and motivation. Do I actually attempt to? No. I have shifted my attention elsewhere for the moment, concentrating more strongly on things that pertain to real life. Veda has a reason to get on the computer, but I don't.

I love defending myself, when it really shouldn't be necessary... my little comment was neutral, a compliment to Veda's dedication. Of course, you just had to pick at it.

My deal is i'm sick to death of your moanings on this forum. You haven't posted a single message in the past six months that isn't laced in self pity. By all means post, but be constructive.

If your comment about Veda having more time than you was not an excuse, then what was it? Why even mention it?

By saying time, I meant "time spent on the computer modelling."

As I have said before, it was a compliment to Veda's dedication. How so? He sacrifices his spare time for things pertaining to Tremulous, while on the other hand, I have set anything related to modelling aside. He makes time; I don't, because I have other things I would rather focus on. That's why I said it.

In retrospect, I should have said, "You have much more dedication [to modelling] and patience than I," or "You have much more patience, and make much more time [for modelling] than I."
