Tremulous Wars
« on: November 08, 2009, 03:35:28 am »
Tremulous is a FPSRTS game of war. So what if we take the game one step higher and have official war matches.

FOR INSTANCE: Say we have lands on earth that humans and aliens control. A player would register on the human and alien team and participate in battles. When the battle is over, the victor gets a piece of land. When one team gets all the land, the top ten players are recorded, put into a hall of fame (in comparison to later or earlier wins for that team) and the war is reset to having both teams with equal amounts of land.

There may be kinks in my idea but I think it's worth a shot... Anyone have opinions?

It's a good multiplayer campaign scheme.. comparing it to star wars bf II campaign (star wars boyfriend haha). Sounds good. Now go code it.

Can be done with AMP (A control point/capture point map).
Also a campaign (Just pick some maps that are vaguely similar eg Karith and Niveus both have snow :D (Or make your own)) can be set up with a server cfg. eg;
map No-mans_land
Humans Win -> map Aliens_Base
Aliens Win -> map Humans_Base

map Aliens_Base
Humans Win -> rotation default
Aliens Win -> map No-Mans_Land

map Humans_Base
Humans Win -> No-Mans_Land
Aliens Win -. rotation default

Have fun.

Sounds good. Only thing i can think to add are boosts of ability as the aliens get closer to killing the humans, or the humans get closer to killing the aliens, to make the map go for longer and such. (Added health, more ammo, more damage).

Cheers :)

BP would be a big one to factor in.

i like it.
could be something like Dawn of War: the dark crusade's mission map, or what is even cooler, Dune 2's.
actually next map could depend on the outcome of a battle and so on, such as the base layouts (e.g. more structures to start with at a defensive map)

i dont really like the point capturing idea... eeer... promod anyone?

Instead of capturing just play many map at the same time. Add possibility to gather resources and send gift to aliens/humans on other map. It could be great!

If on both map alien wins, alien will win competition

If aliens wins on one map, there must be one additional battle on new map.

Try creating a mod for campaign setup. have about 4 or so maps etc.
