I was talking with a friend, Sora, on teamspeak last night, and we came up with an amazing gameplay changing mod idea. Now, neither of us are skilled in the art of the C, so I'll throw it down here.
You get points for killing enemies. after a certain threshold, you gain new equipment/units when you spawn.
For example, as a human:
Kill 4 enemies, gain 4 (or more) points. These points can be used to buy equipment that you will always spawn with. Including Weapons, Armor, New Ammo Types, and Items.
For an Alien: You're points would be going towards either the next alien unit, or enhancements for your alien unit. Such as +10% extra health, +10% damage, +10% speed, ect; You would only be able to get an adv unit through having the normal unit first.
Once points are spent, they can not be reimbursed.
Some minor balances would need to be put in place so that a high score player doesn't completely destroy the whole enemy team.
At the end of the game, your worth is calculated in this equation: (Kills-Deaths-(TeamKills*2))+Floor(Accuracy/5)+(buildings killed*2+(Buildings Created/4))
So lets say somone got 23 kills, 16 deaths, TK'd 1 ally, 42% accuracy, killed 3 turrets, and built 6 acid tubes.
(23-16-2)+(42/5)+((3*2)+(6/4))
5+8+8
21
So your end Worth would be 21.
If you have the highest worth, you automatically start with Your Worth/15 points for the next game, enticing players to keep playing. (This would mostly only give them 1 point, but skilled players might reach upwards to 3 points starting game.)
