Oh damnit, I get a black screen instead of a title screen

Well, damnit.

I was trying to get Warrock to work, so I updated my drivers, and fiddled with the refresh rate and color quality.

It didn't help Warrock at all, except that now Tremulous is messed up too.

It just goes to a black screen while the music plays.

I changed back the color quality, and the refresh rate, but it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

Warrock is another free game.

Windows XP
Geforce 4 MX Integrated (shut up)
A hair under a gig of ram
AMD Athlon 2800+

delete autogen.cfg and run the game again

I deleted autogen.cfg, and I still got the black screen.

If it is a gamma problem, what would be a more appropriate number?

default should be \r_gamma 1   i use 4 which is really bright

Oh well, I suppose it is worth it since all I play is free games anyways.

Yeah, but then I would have to back up everythings.

Interestingly enough, it seems that most of my other FPS's are broken as well.

Your card could be dead.  I had this same exact situation where the desktop and all 2d aps worked fine, but anything accelerated went to black screens.  The card also might be overheating.  Open up your case and make sure the 3d graphics card fan isn't blocked from moving by dust or other particles.
