Played a few games today on US. Some thoughts (from a human perspective);
- Most chaingunners play an extremely aggressive role. Even at S2, if I ever picked up a chaingun, I'd be the front line, going toe to toe with maras and goons, literally an arms length away from them. Every player whom I've ever seen be successful with the chaingun is always up in his(/her) enemy's face. The chaingun's damage was nerfed in favor of upping the accuracy, but due to the aforementioned playstyle of a successful chaingunner, the boost to accuracy is extremely negligible, compared to the crippling -1 damage.
tl;dr: chainguns need their shit accuracy and their higher damage back.
- The luci is a MUCH more effective weapon for going on offensive vs. anything smaller than a tyrant (in my limited experience). It's not, however, the base demolisher that it once was. While I understand it was important to give it a role vs. players, we don't have a dedicated base demolisher any more, and that's tough to get used to.
- Pulse rifle is much more effective now. I'm not liking the price increase, especially with the nerfed ammo capacity. The speed of the projectile is very, very nice though.
- I feel like, for whatever reason, ATCS tips the balance waaay in favor of aliens for some reason. Could be that the compact base is vulnerable to +maras. Not sure. Are any of the def. 1.1 maps going to be included in the 1.2 release?
