Metal/techno contribution proposal
« on: December 21, 2009, 11:30:11 am »
Hi!

My name is Andreas, I'm a norwegian spare-time composer and producer. Recently I've been looking into creating music for games, and Tremulous might be a good match for my style. I'm also a huge fan of free software and admire this project highly.

Here's a little track I created last night, it might give you an idea about my style and what I feel might be a good direction: http://www.pvv.org/~andrerav/sekrit/Storm.mp3

My inspiration for this track comes from the Unreal Tournament Soundtrack (which was fantastic) as well as Dream Theater (specifically the Octavarium album). I'm also influenced by Machinae Supremacy, Nightwish, Pagan's Mind, and heeps of other great and melodic bands.

Let me know what you think (:

Nice track Andreas. It reminds me of Ayreon. As a game soundtrack, maybe try a few slightly faster beats.
Keeping it in my collection though ;)

Very nice, good work, but I agree with Ingar too.

The into is nice and slow, but I think around the apex of the song and before and after some, you should try and really get it speedy. Tremulous is a fast game in a fast genre after all.

I'm impressed with your work. I do agree with the two above posters; a faster beat is something you may definitely want to look into. I can definitely hear the MaSu influence! I thought of them as soon as it started  ;D

Great work, looking forward to more.

That was some good shit man, definitely better than the current Tremulous Theme. For me I don't think there is any excuse to keep the current theme in the game with contributions like this one.
Clan {Jo|So} were clan {No|Shows} at todays war between them..

The Magma Warriors are pissed off you wasted our time, and I have decided I will DOS attack your server, I have a program for that. Unless you want to get your asses on, and do a 3 on 3 or 4 on 4.

I like it a lot, but you wouldn't have to speed it up if it was the title theme.  After all music in game is highly frowned upon.  Nice job, and I hope you help out the devs and make some cool music for trem :D

Keep up the good work,
Kiwi

Trem doesnt support mp3, so you will either need a 20 second wav file or a a reaaaally low quality one

Wow, really nice. You got talent!
Reminds me of the starcraft zerg music. Would fit perfectly in tremulous.

Developers: Please do something with this opportunity!

Afaik it was too much of a problem to include it for whatever reason.
And what you mean is vorbis, or ogg vorbis. the important part is nonetheless vorbis
