No, they are posted: e.g. http://stats.tremulous.net/tremstats/us1/game_log.php?game_id=1539

I added some disclaimers yesterday. All fixed :)

Thanks Khalsa, this is a good start.

But it's all that's left of natural selection in humankind, no?

So should stupid sods who get fooled by nigerian scammers, and post their personal info and such be allowed as a part of the gene pool? I think not! >:(
Hooray, we got disclaimers!

but but but Natural Selection sucks!  ;D

Who gives a shit? Really. Who honestly gives a shit that public chatlogs are recorded and posted on the Internet? I really, really don't think this is a big deal in the slightest. These are the same types of people who whine about Google Chrome invading your privacy (while continuing to use Google and Youtube and own at least one gmail account).

The only reason you'd care is if you were cybering on Tremulous. In which case you have even bigger issues than your security.

You obviously cared enough to bring this thread back to life.. FYI who needs to cyber, trem is porn in disguise... Think about it, you have big black aliens taking humans from behind. There is a big-mama-dominatrix class. There is even bondage action for those who are in to that kind of thing. I'll leave the rest for your imagination :D

Stop whining ::). If you are that much into privacy, you can always write a mod which will provide an encrypted chat. There are ready made solutions like GPG or OTR which are used by many open source IMs.

I suppose you do not encrypt/sign your e-mails, do you?

Besides the necro, you not understanding what was being discuessed, etc.

I would encrypt my emails if I knew they were being logged and posted on a public site for anyone to read...

Do you encrypt your tweets?  Or emails to public mailing lists?  That's more akin to this than private emails.  (Which are more like /m, not public but the server op still reads it).

I don't know, I never use twitter or public mailing lists or whatever, so I wouldn't have a reason to encrypt it or not. Anyways, I was pointing out that granus did not seem to understand what, specifically was being discussed, my personal privacy was a metaphore, I'm actually not often that paranoid.

I'd just send a lot of gay and donkey porn.

What? I would consider sending any message during game play to be posting. In that case, you are the one who is posting, not some third party. Bear in mind, that if there are some players playing on the server and you say something, even to your team, you are doing so in front of a public...

So, I would rather ask: Were you aware that your chats (which are already public anyway) are posted in such way, that they are easily accessible to an average person with a web browser? Now, that would be striking.

I did a mistake that I've already proposed a solution. My bad, what was I thinking?
