game hangs for a second
« on: January 06, 2010, 12:18:59 pm »
hi all,

when playing tremulous the game sometimes "hangs"for a second.
i can see other players moving shooting etc. but my controlls just freeze up.
and when its over i find myself a few most of the time walking to a wall or something.

if anyone has an idea or so please reply.

Close bittorrent or whatever's eating all the bandwidth.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

i am not using any download programs when i play tremulous.
but i just downloaded a bandwidth meter and every few minutes there is a spike of 532 kbps up and download.
is there anyway how i can find out what is causing this?

edit:
im doing a full scan of my system at the moment maybe its some spyware or something

edit:
well it didn't found anything. just downloaded process explorer everything in there looked safe.

edit:
just played the game in windowed mode and with the bandwidth meter on and had another hang there wasn't anything out of the ordinary just normal internet usage.

edit:
after some further inspection every time the game hangs there is no internet connection for a a second or so.
ill reconfigure mt router now maybe it helps.

edit:
setting  my router to factory defaults didn't help so im going to try to use an internet cable instead of wireless now.

edit:
ok that solved it looks like the wireless connection was causing the spikes.

mods lock please! :dretch:

Wish all people could solve their own problems like this.
