Problem with starting up tremulous
« on: February 28, 2010, 01:26:41 am »
I have a friend that can't get the game to function properly.

He clicks the icon for tremulous, the initial console opens up, but then the game crashes too fast for him to click anything and he gets no error message, and the screen brightness gets cranked up.

He's currently running XP.

Any ideas on what is causing this problem and/or how to solve it?

That isn't really a lot of help. But I'd say with good feelings about my chances that this is a drivers issue.

*he gets no error message*

He's currently running XP.

I think if there was a drivers problem it would still shout an error.
If it just closes at the start and no error message it must be some problem with his system.

Run it from a console and post up the output.

if you shut down computer correctly it auto fixes but it happens because it wasn't closed right and still has the memory from it being used is what i was told. (happens to me a lot)
