Final power balancing thoughts on last public preview
« on: March 01, 2010, 01:46:58 am »
Generally gameplay became more dull by holistic observation.

Originally I awaited that gameplay change wouldn't be so strong just as it was first public previews.

Things that are definitely good for ballace:
New human armour. (Goon now pwns armoured humans left and right)
Alien hive behaviour and damage made much more lethal. (Probably even too much)
 Delag by default
 Pounce bug fixing
 Headshot modifier
 Human jumping

Thins that are strange and really alienating for human players:
Smooth alien regeneration. (Rants at very last hps running away from human chasing through the whole atcs and regenerating).
Some humans arms made even more inferior.
New shotgun, makes less dmg on average on good hit.
 No turret boost for DC

Thing we awaited, but not get:
Jetpack downgrade. - Now with new PR and luci it's hell with jetcamp at atcs
Redefining human base defence. - Basecamping now is the most expected outcome for a match.
 Non gameplay balance changes.

My proposal to save more active gameplay:
 Make rant cost 4
Empower human conventional firearms: shotgun, mg, chaingun
Back goon charge time, or even reduce it. Restore 50% of primary attack range.
Reduce rant repeat, make him do crush damage to humans without charge, but reduce its damage.
Add more speed to rant, goon and lisk.

Yet you don't tell us how this would help for a single one of your changes. From our standpoint, they seem arbitrary. If you want to be understood break each (change suggestion) into a heading with an explanation for each change.
