New Tremulous Icon (PNG & Windows Icon)
« on: July 19, 2006, 11:52:56 pm »
I didn't like the default one so I made this one from a screenshot I found on this forum.

32x32 & 16x16 for the windows icon but here is also a transparent PNG which can be resized and made in bigger size windows icons or used in Linux. I hope you like it.

Windows Icon (Only 32x32 & 16x16, make a bigger one if u want using the PNG)

Good job photoshopping it, although I agree that an alien one would look better.

Take vcxzet's awesome cut out of a Tyrant, resize to 32x32 & 16x16, save as transparent png's and import in Icon Sushi then save as a multiple icon. You can also have all sorts of sizes depending what icon size you want, just resave it and import in Icon Sushi.

I'm honestly lazy and just needed a 32x32 icon for Tremulous since the default is so pixelated.

Took the tyrant image, added a 5-pixel black border, shrunk it (Cubic scaling. Lanczos scaling made it all black) to 32x32 (and 16x16).

If my webhost would allow direct linking (bah on them) I'd put the .ico up somewhere. Alas, if someone could do it for me, I'd e-mail it to them ;) OR someone could just get a 32x32 .ico from the above image, but the original is better ;).

Made some changes to primoTurbo's picture.

Here it is: http://www.imageviper.com/displayimage/47637/0/Tremulous2.png
Works good if you like resized icons on the Desktop. Just use Spaces instead of given the the shortcut a name, looks best IMO.

The full-sized versions work just fine. They're scaled down to a nice size in Gnome, for me at least.

lmao

Why not have a dragoon or adv marauder icon rather ? Those fight most of Tremulous' battles after the dretch. And they look cooler imo :P

Here is a simple way that is mostly free:

[list=1]Download AveIconifier(direct), and unzip it to a folder. No fancy install here.
  • Open any file you want, and edit it to your happyness in whatever app you want (Like photoshop), but make sure it is saved in PNG.
  • Right click on the 2 wells of AveIconifier, and select all the sizes you want.
  • Drag the PNG file to the right well, and bam! ICO is ready to be dragged out of the left well. You can reverse the process, and turn ICO into PNG[/list:o]

That app outputs the cleanest ICO you will find, and it looks great:

I ripped a bunch of pics, and made icons for almost every imaginable thing in tremulous. It is up on the infobase, here are the links:
    Infobase mirror:
http://www.tremulous.info/downloads/icons.zip
  • EU mirror 1:

http://blackheartware.com/trem/icons.zipOn a small side note, can anyone tell me why the US mirror link is the same IP of sst?
