MY server isnt on the master server list [UNSOLVED]
« on: March 31, 2010, 09:54:23 pm »
I just recently created a server. For some reason it isn't appearing in the master server list. I gave someone the IP of the server and they tried connecting but failed. The servers IP is 127.0.0.1:32123. Is that not a public IP or something? Someone I asked told me that. When I start the server, in the command prompt thing it says "+set dedicated 2" so it should be online, right? Making a server was a lot harder than I thought it would be.
I am running the server from my house, but the server's IP is different than my IP. Should they be the same?
Please help me.  ???  ???  :-\

127.0.0.1 is the loopback ip, it always points to the current computer.

Look at http://www.ipchicken.com/ to get your real IP address, and make sure that it's accessible from the internet.  (No firewalls blocking it etc)

How do I check if there is a firewall blocking it?
ipchicken says my ip is 68.113.4.239

Well if it's dedicated 2 and it's not on the list, then there probably is.

http://portforward.com/ should be able to tell you how to set the one on your router/CPE.
