Changes 04/05/2010
« on: April 05, 2010, 08:25:12 am »
As of now, US1 and EU1 are testing out a version of the Buildlog/Revert patch, a bit before it gets trunked. L3+ have buildlog. L4+ have revert.

Also, the following changes have been merged that you should be aware of as players:
Quote
* Queue BP according to the proportion of damage that came from not-friendly-fire (e.g. things killed entirely by FF have their BP returned instantly, and those killed by enemies/other have their BP queued, and others split accordingly)
* Attribute deaths caused by nopower, nocreep, and human buildable blowup-chain-reactions to the person that killed the egg/power/original building that started the chain
* Use markdecon (instant of instant-decon) when buildings are unpowered but are about to be powered by a currently-building
* and a couple other tweaks/fixes to markdecon behavior.

This means that teamkilling your old base to help with a move, or teamkilling some rubbish feeder egg, is no longer punished by bp-queue. It also means that while you're moving the reactor within the base, people won't be able to decon everything instantly (because it has no power) anymore.

Enjoy.

I noticed a bug once where I had a trapper above a couple of barricades. The trapper was killed and I believe the barricades were removed/killed. The human base was tked so a revert had to be done by an admin. The revert also recovered the two barricades and the trapper. However, instead of the trapper reappearing above the barricades (it was on an angled ceiling), the trapper appeared on the floor between the two barricades (the trapper was within the bounding boxes of both barricades). As well, this caused the barricades to shrink until I deconned the trapper.

So you are saying the trapper fell directly downwards onto 2 barris when reverted, and those shrunk cuz of it?

Well, the trapper didn't physically fall from the ceiling to the floor. It spawned on the floor after the revert (it basically looked like the trapper was in between the barricades, as opposed to on them). Basically I belive the bug has to do with reverted alien buildings that were on the ceiling spawning on the floor instead.

Want me to remove the emoticons? ;)

Thanks for reporting that, by the way. I pointed it out to the relevant guys (Rezyn, Undeference, kevlarman) and they are working on it.
