What backport should I use?
« on: April 18, 2010, 08:38:02 pm »
I just downloaded Ubuntu 9.10, and I just download Tremulous-1.1.0 from http://tremulous.net/files/ and installed it.
Now to build in my favourite server (korx) I have to have a backport.  What I used about a year or two ago was TJW's backport. But not only can I not find it any more; people keep telling me to use a newer backport...  But they never tell witch one to use!  Can somebody please tell me what a newer backport is?

Thanks.

tjw's is here: http://trem.tjw.org/backport/ but is very out of date.

There's the MG client here: http://projects.mercenariesguild.net/projects/mgclient/files which is made by a couple of the devs and is basically the successor to TJW's in being just bugfixes and backports and small stuff.

There's also tremfusion here: http://www.tremfusion.net/download/ who go for the "every feature good or bad" approach and has/had big plans to change stuff and I dunno.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

I'm disappointed that people's past actions have forced me to state what should be obvious.
