Base Freebies - a general idea

Don't worry, I'm not vying to see this in 1.2 or anything, I just have an idea. Post feedback/flames below :D :D

    I have noticed that there are people ( be it preference or lag restraints or whatever) who will prefer the builder class through many matches in a row. These people have perfected base building and recovery down to an art, so much so that newbs should be afraid to touch what they've built. It's these people who support us when we go off killwhoring and still have a base to come back to...people who don't put the ckit or granger away for a moment, no matter the tide of battle. I have an idea for facilitating and rewarding these individuals. It is a set of buildables that do not occupy or use build points, but which take time and other conditions to build. These items may give their team an MINOR edge if the team's base remains unattacked for too long, as well as giving inactive builders something to do if their base is largely complete.(we've all been there)

Conditions regarding these structures:
      May not be built unless all possible build points have been used.
      May only be built by one builder at a time, and will instantly be destroyed if this builder changes to a combat class (builder death then respawn will not affect these items).
      Items must be subject to creep/power grid, just like normal buildables.

Here are my ideas for "freebies" built in this fashion. In the event that you like this concept in general, think up others. They must in general be time-consuming to build, and be more sparkle - less bang.

Aliens:   "Alien Cyst" A small fist sized spore that lays on the floor and generates a small creep. It acts as a mine, but only if destroyed by a human shooting it (he has the choice to walk past it unexploded).
           "Mini-mind" A partly grown Overmind fetus, roughly a third the size of the Overmind, which, upon destruction of the real om, grows itself into a new one from the halfway mark (hitpoint speaking).

Humans:   "G-Battery" A largish (human-sized but lays on its side) battery that can be built with ckit once the human base is complete. These can be stacked on eachother to save space. This is a battery which will power
                      all human structures if the Reactor goes down. Compared to the alien Freebies which take a longer time to build, you should be able to build up to 5 of these in an unmolested match. Each battery
                      will only work for ten seconds, so if hummies are on the ball and snap to it, they can get a jump on remaking or moving the RC quite well. Powering the base for 10 secs will consume the battery,
                      which will promptly disappear.
         "Dretch-lick" Basically like a glue trap for mice or flies, except that it only affects dretches and only to slow them slightly as they pass over it. It may be built on floors and (if possible, idk) walls with
                       ckit.


These only some of the possible Freebies that could be built. The idea is to have something cool yet doesn't affect much, to make bases more diverse-appearing and to give grizzled builders more to do than twiddle thumbs if they aren't in the mood to jump into combat.

It seems as though the conditions for getting to these things are a bit too specific, so a team would probably have to camp to be able to get to build them. They are also pretty high tier buildables (again because of the conditions that you have outlined), so I just don't see teams ever getting a chance to build them. Perhaps if the things were more accessible?

TL;DR
I think that the buildables will detract from gameplay rather than enhance it.

Pretty good ideas for buildings but I'm not so sure about the conditions. More building specific ones might be better for example Mini-mind having to be outside of creep and "G-Battery" next to rc also G-Battery shouldn't power repeaters or maybe they could also live without rc by themselves for 5-10 secs. Alien mine could just require 1 bp and do like 10 dmg and basi-gas effect and be s3 only.

Fake eggs or something could be cool.

Well - see - the idea is to have items which seem cool but aren't worth camping for. They also act as an incentive for an industrious builder to build a complete base, not just an egg / few tubes then go off and fight leaving no builder (or rets w/e as human).
