Well until you remember, I doubt anyone will be able to help you.

... That's the point. Unless they get really lucky, NOBODY will be able to help you if you don't tell us what's wrong. Imagine calling a telephone plumber service and telling them your sink is broken. They cannot give you advice on how to fix it unless you actually say the PROBLEM specifically.

i remember you im tempted to not help but meh im a nice guy

  • STOP USING WINE AND BLOATBUNTUU tremulous package(if your still using it)(i think i said that last time and it was ignored even though its the most important part)
  • install using the official installer and install a backport(tremfusion or mg or even fsm(although its a lil outadate now it still works great)) and for my own sanity i wont tell you how
  • Give us some info like console output so we can work on the issue your having

once you install from the official installer then put on a backport and actually give us useful info from a console or from bt/etc we can actually troubleshoot the issue

Well let's see...
*Is the power cord placed firmly in the receptacle?
*Is the CD in fact in the drive?
*If so, have you closed the CD drive?

Seriously.

Okay have you updated your ubuntu with the latest graphics drivers?
Are you using pulseaudio? (can cause many problems with tremulous 1.2 , see http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=13081.0 read the last few posts as well.
What is the console output? (drag the icon you click on to start trem into a console. You can find a console in Applications>Accessories>terminal. then press enter.)

Running tremulous in wine under ubuntu is perverted. Stop as soon as possible. The above tips only help if you are running a normal version of ubuntu tremulous. Really though how you could post something like that is a testament to the phenomenal intellect power of today's denizens.

Update the executable? wth do you mean by that? did you remove pulseaudio? And are you still running it in wine? We seriously can't help you unless you are verbose.

are you using the official trem installer or the bloatbuntuu package(which changes file locations and wont work with other executables)
also try running tremulous in your terminal/console/command prompt/whatever you wanna call it and actually give us some info we can use to help

With decades of Operating System experience under my belt, I have found some common issues with Operating Systems such as Windows, Ubuntu, and Mac.

The users knowledge of computers.
This is a leading cause of stress cancer, commonly known as "ugh, what an idiot."
A lot of times a user fails to read manuals given to them when they buy a horribly
expensive piece of crap computer, which is already five to ten years behind it's time. Yes, even the $6,000 computers.

If you don't know how to use ubuntu, or even read simple Tremulous engine errors, i'd suggest getting Windows or something. It's not your fault, it's the users' knowledge of the computer! Oh wait...
