Rush
Our squad had just arrived. There had been reports of alien activity in this district, including reports of a ten foot tall monster, with two massive claws that they claimed could easily split a man in two in a single swipe. If these reports were true, then this was an alien species we had never encountered before. Our division was well armed with two Pulse Rifles, two Flamethrowers, a Painsaw, a Mass Driver, and half a dozen Privates with Lasguns.
We warily entered the facility where this alien was last spotted. It was strangely quiet, just the occasional noise that sounded something like crickets chirping. If anyone else noticed, they sure didn’t show it.
We passed down the main corridor, and came to a corner. We promptly split up into 3 groups: Myself, Corporal Evans, and two privates went left, Lieutenant Mitchell, Captain Rogers, and two more privates went left, while Corporal Ames, Corporal Williams, and the remaining two privates went straight ahead. We had only gone on for about a minute, when we heard a horrible yell. We spun around, and ran back to the intersection where we had split up. We met Lieutenant Mitchell’s group here. We ran through the door that Corporal Williams’ group had gone through. A disturbing sight greeted us as we entered the large room on the other side of the door.
The room had blast marks everywhere, but that wasn’t what caught our attention. There, in the middle of the room, stood a huge monster of an alien. It was at least 10 feet tall, stood on six legs, and two massive arms ending in a single horrible claw on each arm. All four men were dead, two of them torn clean in half. This beast appeared injured, but very alive still, nonetheless.
We slowly advanced on it. We were halfway across the room when it noticed us. It let out a terrible roar, and we all froze. It the charged across the room, and trampled 3 men, and tore another two apart. Only Corporal Ames and myself survived, but we were in trouble, as the beast (we later dubbed it a “Tyrant”) had knocked our weapons out of our hands before we got out of its reach, leaving us only with Blasters. We backed up against a wall, and we seemed doomed, when we heard battle cry. We both looked up, and saw Williams come flying off of the upper balcony with his Painsaw on full, and as he landed on the Tyrant’s back, he dug in his Painsaw into the beast’s back. The Tyrant roared in pain and fury, before collapsing to the ground, dead. As soon as we were sure it was dead, we flew out of the place, like bullets from a gun, never to return.
