Particle Fire Once?
« on: July 02, 2010, 04:27:18 am »
How can I make a particle system fire once every time a button is pressing. I've tried several attempts with different configurations of timers and relays but I can't get a working setup. I've got a particle system that is automatically off. When I press a button it will turn it on but it will remain on until I hit the button. Is there a parameter in the particle file that will tell it to only go once?

I don't have a real answer to that, but ATCS has these fireworks at the end when a team has won, and they seem to be the kind of one-shot particle-effect that you're looking for.

Here's my "atcs_map_pack_byGmotw_2010-06-11.7z" with a decompiled ATCS etc., 2MB. http://senduit.com/9cbc91

You should be able to figure it out based on that.

Thanks gmotw! Finally a copy of acts too and I will figure this thing out.

This should be fun. At least it's organized.

You're welcome! :)

But I had submitted this same 7z to your "a copy of atcs?" thread on 11.6. (evil laugh)

If you haven't figured it out already, one of those sides will (should) be a trigger to shoot blue particles in the event of a human win and the other to shoot red in the event of an alien win. You'll only need one if your event is a button press.

When you figure it out, you should post a Soubok-esque diagram for all of us lazy people particle rookies.
