A possible map editor
« on: July 24, 2006, 08:10:41 am »
I'm new to tremulous, but I am interested in making maps for it.  I followed the mapping guide, but could not find a Quake 3 based map editor for OS X.

I did find a few different editors though, one of which is quite easy and fun to use.

This link is for the .mac download of this editor/game, and I wonder if it would be possible to set it up for tremulous map making.

An answer from one who knows about mapping would be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

IIRC it uses it own map format not bsp's Unless someones programs something to convert them to bsps(PITA) you cant use it. Try using gtkradiant it has most of the tools required for mapping.
Probably irrelevant but in game map editors suck less tools, weird workspace,...

Thanks for the links Catalyc, that installer was very useful.

Yeah, vcxzet, you are right.  Most ingame builders aren't very good, but i was suprised with this one.  Once you get past the lack of anything similar to other map builders, this one is suprisingly powerful and useful.  Try it, it's great fun.

Thanks again!
