Will not start
« on: July 14, 2010, 01:28:47 am »
Hey!  I'm sorry I have to come in on such a sour note, but Tremulous simply will not start for me!  That is, it crashes as soon as it starts.  I have Windows Vista x64.

Please post the console output during the crash so we can help you.  Thanks.

I'm afraid that's impossible.  Once the program is started the console is inaccessible, even with ALT+TAB, and once I close the program the console is gone.  The only clue I have to go on is that Data Execution Prevention says it closed it, but that's supposed to happen only when a program tries to run suspicious code.  Is there any code in Tremulous that Windows might consider suspicious?

Wow... really?  I can't believe how old this topic is, and how simple the problem was.  It was just bloody DEP shutting it down.  Maybe this is bumping an old thread, but perhaps this will help someone else with a similar issue.

Thanks! :)
