Need some help with an idea

Well, uh, I've played around on and with Tremulous for awhile and I want to get into modding, or at least messing with the config files. My idea is to switch a sound file with a "Balls of Steel" Duke Nukem spam-quote and set it to a hotkey so that when I hit the hotkey it will play the sound to everyone across my server. I hand out copies of this game to everyone at school when we play, so everyone will have the same changed sound file. How should I go about this? I have some basic idea, but not enough to act on.

If you want to play the sound to everyone on server, you'll probably need to do some coding (unless the server can be made to play sounds).

Or you could replace any in-game sound (like taunt) with yours just by finding the sound file you want to replace in data-1.1.0.pk3 (which is a renamed .zip), and creating another .zip file with just your sound file in the same sub-folder as the file you want to replace, and rename that .zip to "z-mySoundMod.pk3". The server needs to have that pk3 or be unpure.
