managing mods
« on: August 31, 2010, 09:38:28 pm »
I've been hanging around here for a while, and have picked up some mods. but now they are getting hard to manage. Its also annoying how the pk3's must be in both /gpp directories. So here's my questions:

1. Is it possible to have all the pk3's in say a ~/mods directory and have a symlink to it in both /gpp directories?

2. What happens when 2 mods conflict, i.e. they both want to pimp out the MD?

You should only need it in one place, normally you should never touch basepath.

The latter pk3 file name wins, which is why lots are called zzz-whatever.pk3
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

Really? I've tried it in only 1 (.tremulous not /usr/local/game/tremulous) and it didn't work

EDIT: you only need it in the /usr/l.../tremulous folder. Symlinks dont appear to work. =(
