Lost Teamwork
« on: September 03, 2010, 06:50:45 pm »
I'm not been much active playing Trem because of my real life (oh **** off, I don't got time for my pc), but I just want to bring this up.

As I'm not much professional player (with few exceptions on some games), I still try my best to achieve victory to my team. For me, I like waayy too much of tactics and strategies. This is one reason why I like to play. But to point.

Most of times, we know other players by their nick only. But we don't know how others think how they want to attack, or build, or such. And if we want to do this, we tell it in teamchat, and hear others opinion, how they want it. Sounds pretty easy.

And there is the problem. We sometimes do what teammate wants/requests. Most of times, we don't care, what teammate wants, we just want to get high scores by alone, or just do some killwhoring, or some other shitty reason.

This is something, what should be discussed.
And I'm not in mood to give any of my own ideas, because I just arrived to home. I try update this later when I get time for it.

Yeah it happens a ton.
Most of the time they cluster the base and they don't give a rip.
Then when we lose I say I told you so then they get ticked.
I'd rather enjoy the 15 minutes invested into the game then have people who never communicate at all or never listen.
It's the same thing with the base.

You play a game,
you leave the base, base is being nailed,
they don't say anything then you lose.
If they would have said base is need of help,
get back to base or such then there would have been hope.
I know it's just a game and honestly what I've said won't change anything.

The trick is to get multiple people saying it.

I want to waste my time the best way I can.
Meaning I want my 20 minutes trem game to be good :-)
I try not to play much more, although I never watch TV(almost never)
other than a few constructive hobbies, college and stuff that's how I spend my time.

Trem's open source that's why I'm at the forum!

Sorry 'bout that, but, like I said, I just arrived back to home, plus I was rather exhausted. I'll try tomorrow to rewrite that, I've done better presentations in English lessons. :P

What I've seen some games, I say yes. Also, this happens same while attacking enemy. You don't note that Overmind is down, they rebuild it, and they'll be just as strong as before.
Sometimes we rush to enemy base without any support, and we lose our evos/creds for nothing. You try to group with some folks, they become impatient, and attack the enemy alone. Some people, like me, try to group, or least pair with someone. Best communication is that you know how and where to group, without single chatter on teamchat. I don't what others call this, but I say these as maneuvers (no better word for this :P).

But yeah, trying to write clean that topic. Tomorrow or next week.

Yeah I've had it where the om is down I'm pain sawing away and if there was another person we could have won but nobody says much. Not enough communication is a fail and we usually fail as humans since the aliens can handle(not do good but tolerate) minimal if any communication since they are usually loners.
Binds are very helpful, although I need more than the base is under attack and rush.
I need one for the base is too clustered,
fall back,we are feeding fall back!), and a few others but for the life of me I won't remember where they all are.

A topic on binds, how team chat is extremely useful and such would be a very wise idea.
Then maybe a mod would sticky it.
