Transit station is a great map 'n all but i hate it and many other ppl i know hate it human and alien

what do you think ??

The only map worse than Transit is Uncreation. It sucks that bad.

uncreation is wierd and dormented at first but its actually good it Tries to use each species defense at its best but it suks my first map im making is uncreation mixed with atcs im a bit worried about the bugs though as i don't quiet know how to perfect the defense layout

there is nothing wrong with transit the map, but because the bases start with no defenses, the "camp till s3" human teams tend to die in 2 minutes if they can't get turrets up, which is most of the time. I don't care very much, because it would have been a boring game anyway. i do hate it though when i save the humans from the alien rush and i get rewarded with this:

yeah, apart from the bugs its a good map. I agree on the human defences bit as a group of dretches can get into your base before you've built your first turret. Hell you don't even need more than 1 to beat humans on that map.

You just lack the processing power to play Transit and Uncreation. Both on your desk as well as in your head.

[PS] Performing a start-of-game basemove is fairly easy on Transit.

I like it, it has a variety of good base locations for both teams, good egg hiding spots and it is a good size.

My only gripe with transit is that there have been so many games were the aliens have pwned the game in the first five minutes because the initial human base is crap. I think a couple of turrets to start with would solve this.

I like it. Some of my best games have been there. Usually as humans I try to move the base into the escalator room, which is fun in itslef but pretty risky in the process.

I like it.  It offers plenty of ways to get at your enemy.  If the humans get there turrets up the aliens just have to out smart.  Not to mention there are plenty of better places to move it rather quickly.  As for the aliens they got plenty of places to hide there eggs.  Plus if they get together fast enough they can either wipe the floor with human blood (wait thats already been done on that map  :) ) or catch in them in the act of moveing the base.  Plus theres a bit of humor in it with the posters and the blood on the wall.  All in all its one of my favorite maps.

I love transit.  It's a great map.  It's big enough that the aliens can successfully build a disperse base (and no complaining about egg hunts, the map isn't all that big, get a helmet).  The humans have good spots they can move to right away.  

The other big plus for me is that moving around the map as an alien is great.  It's got lots going for it in the way of alternate routes, as well as shortcuts, for wallwalking, walljumping and pouncing aliens.  It's great for outmanuevering the humans.

It's a fun map.

Transit is the 'Shtuf.

It could use some kind of mini-train/shuttle. But otherwise its a Rockin' map.

Transit is a bad map in my opinion, though not by much. Humans start in such a pitiful location that they have to spend all the early game building something halfway decent and not attacking. Once it's done, alien bases location are so weak that the rest of the game will be spent egg hunting. And finaly, aliens sometimes manage to get to stage 3 and the game is back to human camping with little hope of winning ( they couldn't finish the stage 1/2 aliens, why could they do it in stage 3 now with tyrants attacking their base ? And still, some starting locations for human base are so strong that aliens have little chance of winning either. in the end, the team with the more "boredom level" will lose.

Of course, often the game ends at each breaking point :
- humans killed before setting up a base
- aliens killed after humans build a correct base because they forgot to build eggs everywhere
- humans killed a few seconds after aliens reach stage 3 because they were unprepared


That map needs a better starting location, weaker secondary human bases and something must be done about the borring egg hunts. Aliens shouldn't win a game when they spend 20 minutes with 7 grangers, 1 dragoon and an overmind available 5% of the time.

I agree with you except your conclusions. I like the eggspamming fase, and is lotsa fun!, but well... I play as granger then, so I am beind hunter, and If I do this ok, my team survive. So is hot!.
Also the start is interesting. If we rush fast and hard, we win, but If we are unable to rush, humans continue. Its like a new fase!. I like it.
Again, I agree with you, except conclusions, because I have lotsa fun with transit :D

aliens deserve to win if they can hang on til s3, while having eggs and the OM constantly destroyed


humans get tonnes of credits and can constantly afford luci + bsuit, and if the human team is stil to retarded to win at that stage then they deserve to lose

No, aliens don't deserve to win because what they do is incredibly easy. Try to play as a human sometimes during egghunt phase to see how difficult it is.

Besides, with your crappy choice of equipment, no doubt you'll find it incredibly frustrating. With luci + battlesuit, you'll send 80% of the time walking the long way up to get some ammo at the base, and the other 20% of the time shooting pretty fireworks after grangers at the other side of the map. You need jetpack and either lasgun for grangers or painsaw for eggs/om on that map.

luci + bsuit was just and example of how many credits you get while constantly taking down eggs and grangers


when it comes to an egg hunt i get jpack/lasgun/psaw and obviously a helmet


a coordinated attack by humans covering every area will flush em out

What I hate is aliens building lots of Acid tubes on evrey door on |SST|  so its a insta kill basiclly.  Esspically when they put like 3 on the bottom of the stairs and it hurts youas you walk over it.  I also think there should be a limit on jet pack time becuase they just float out of reach.

I hate literal walls of turrets, but I don't complain about them.

I dont mind the map, ive had some good times on it.  What i dont like is that its a very un-optimized map, being that its an FPS killer compaired to othermaps.

And yes, i hate Uncreation, for the fact that its not very optimized as well.

Ill probibly change my mind however once I get a new compy.  But i still dont like the general map design of Uncreation, its always a "human defense" map.

Just throw down an egg just inside the first bug hall and build a bunch of  :acidtube:  :acidtube:  :hive:  :acidtube: and a  :booster: so that when any  :helmet:  :battlesuit:  :human:  :human:  :battlesuit: come you can kill them with :advmarauder:  :basilisk:  :dretch:  :dretch:  :dragoon:  :tyrant:

Uncreation is bad because at stage 1, if the players aren't of the feeder type, each team will hold secure it's side of the curved corridor and nothing will happen.

At stage 2, matters change a lot, in favor of the humans I would say.

Transit is a great map if you're aliens. U can build a nice alien base there. Lowest Level, Next to the sandhill. Only I find that Aliens are at a adventage in this map (Better places for building Bases).

If hummies manage to build in that tiny pipe room in the sand, it's as close to a perfect base as it gets. (given hummies know what to do)

Starting hummie base is really alien biased since 2 dretches rushing make enough kills to go goon and wipe the base clean.
If hummies stay there and manage to defend to s3, once adv goons come they are dead.

Also, when will people realise that building in the hole in the ceiling is not a good base!
The best spot on that map for hummies is right on top ot the train where alien OG is. Getting there might be a little problem but if u manage, You'll go s2/s3 in a matter of minutes. The best part, it's tyrant safe.

Mostly the humans stay in their base and the aliens go to the piperoom. If you drop your om in the corner, place some barricades and tubes in front of it and some eggs you get to s3 in no time  :P
