What we need: A roadmap.

It has occured to me know one really knows whats coming in 1.2. They have been pretty conclusive hints about new models and I know we need new sounds, but other than that, I haven't a clue. That is why a roadmap/todo list would be helpful and make it easier to participate in areas they can. It would also clear the air on whats coming, so people don't overhype thinking its gonna have improvements that its not. It would also make a good news post to show newcomers "HEY! yeah, we are still under active development! See, we have a new version coming tuesday."

That would require a commitment, so I doubt it will happen.

A roadmap without a time or date of when the next thing will be finished/started would be good.

Yeah, thats what I meant, not a release date, but more of a features list...

Well, I think what we clearly need on the roadmap is a list of longstanding bugs to fix.

qft. Alas. And half the fixes are just sitting in the bug tracker (pressing keys while in a demo anyone?).

The devs are a loose collective. Them conforming to a defined schedule seems almost laughable. But hey, it's possible.

Besides, they did offer the community an opportunity to help with the sound licenses, but that seems to be going at a snail's pace.

A roadmap is NOT a release data/schedule, it simple states what needs to be done and how much progress has been made. As for the sounds, Yes, I agree, it has been quite slow, I've made/found quite a few (probably over 30 or so by now). I think it would be awesome to see more people working on them. If you're interested in sounds, but don't know where to start, PM or message me (I'm freezway on freenode and hang around the #tremulous channel a lot), another person to contact would be khalsa, but I haven't seen her of late...
