Server Question: HTTP Redirect for custom maps ?

Hi guys,

today I set up the "Destination: Eschaton" server, and tried to configure it as comfortable for players as possible (installed tjw's custom binaries, etc...). I also installed three custom maps of which I thought they are mature enough to be played. Now, the usual problem: map downloads are painfully slow. I remember that many games which are based on the Q3 engine support http redirects (so that necessary files are supplied by a webserver directly to the clients on demand). However, tremulous does not seem to support the "sv_wwwDownload" setting and its other related variables. Now I'm wondering whether the Q3 engine does not natively come with http (or even ftp) download support and that thus, it is not implemented in tremulous, or whether i just did not find the correct settings yet.
Any help will be appreciated. :)

P.S.: I posted this in the "General Discussion" forum, because there does not seem to be a server-related board.

This is sort of a feedback thing i would think maybe..
This actually was posted in feedback a few days ago... it is slow and it lulls people into thinking "hey i don't have to go get the map because the game will get it for me"...
Its best to just for now maybe put where they can get the maps in the MOTD and hope they feel like going and getting them if they don't have them.

okay, thank you. :)
so i suppose that http downloads are not implemented.

No, they are not in.

These variables have first been implemented in the quake1/quake2 derivative engine called half-life²/steam. ;)
