GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem

what can i do? plz help me.

QuoteQ: I get the error 'GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem' when I try to run Tremulous!
A: This error is caused by the game not being able to detect your Open GL drivers for your graphics card.  There are two things you can try to resolve this issue:

-If you are using your vendors graphic card drivers (i.e. Asus, Abit), try using your manufacturer's graphic card drivers (i.e. ATI, Nvidia)
-If you are using the manufacturer's graphic card drivers, try using the vendors card drivers.
-If the above steps fail, try uninstalling your graphic card drivers completely, rebooting, then reinstalling the latest set of drivers, rebooting a second time, and trying to run Tremulous again.

Note:  ATI's Windows Vista Beta 2 drivers DO NOT INCLUDE OPEN GL.  There is currently no known work around until ATI updates their drivers with open gl support.

This is taken directly from our FAQ.

Eherm. i am not good whit pc's so i dont understand that sh@t
On my previous pc (the same as where not works) it worked. but after installing windows vista it wont work now anymore?

Aviator

Do you know what kind of graphics card you have? If not, google your computer model series, find what graphics card it has, and check these sites:
http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDSupportHub.aspx
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ <<hopefully not this D:

I got SiS Mirage Graphics 64mb

Conzul

you need to dowload OpenGL. Use google to find and install it, then restart your PC. Vista sux btw, go back to xp.

naabje

Hmm i cant find any downloads on the site.
can you give me download link please?

gimhael

Hmmm, when I open http://www.sis.com and select the download center there are drivers for the IGP graphics to download, but you have to know your chipset (e.g. SIS671).

naabje

How can i chek which chipset i have?

start menu-->run-->dxdiag? I'm not sure if that'll show it without having the driver. Do you know the model number of your computer?

Anonymoose

Sorry to tell you, but im pretty sure the SiS mirage gpu's do not support openGL at all, as they are a bit dated, nor will it be powerful enough to run tremulous anyway.

It worked for me and had no lagg. but now i have new vista bcus my pc crashed and now it doesnt work anymore.

Anonymoose

Oh i see, well then yeah you need to install the drivers again.
go here to check gpu type:
http://www.sis.com/support/support_prodid.htm

(if you dont find out via the SiS id tool, check manually by getting into device manager and checking under 'display adapters')

then here to download the one specified driver package:
http://www.sis.com/download/

There seem to be Vista drivers only for 67x cards, 66x drivers are only available for XP.  :'(
