Each colour setting counts as two characters in your name, which is limited to 32 characters.
If this were changed to not count colours as characters, I can think of three attacks and two targets that would be easily exploitable using this.
Besides,I've used rainbows in my name for a few years now and haven't really had difficulty with name limits. If you need more colours than a rainbow name, you're using too many colours.
