im having trouble with GTKradient and trem
« on: August 03, 2006, 12:19:28 am »
i followed the directions of making GTKR work with trem.

the file i had to download where shit i had to go in and rearrange them

there was a '-' where there wasn't supposed to be and stuff

any how i got it working and in the list it says an openGL error has occured (never happened before) and all the texture are white!! even the overmind and power generator.
Why?

EDIT/Added ~
so far iv'e decided to make it in q3 and place the model in trem mode then BSP it

Could you be a 'little' mor specific?
GTK is just an API and is not needed to run trem .)

THANK YOU! I was wishing that someone would tell him this.
Okay, GTK+ is a Widget Library. GTKRadiant is a program that uses GTK+ for drawing its controls. Look, If you need help with GTK+ you'll get it HERE

The issue we are having is your pettifogging with the XML while you seem to take offence when you are being corrected. I darkly remember a thread with a real descriptive heading addressing this issue.

But be warned... Since you already know the difference between GTK and GTKRadiant, your fuzzy question and stubbornness might not be welcome there .)

I stand corrected. You have no problem with GTK(Radiant), as you stated in your heading. Then why do you spam here at all?

And guess what? No one cares what you refer to when you say 'GTK' as the rest of the world is aware that 'GTK' is an apreviation for 'Gimp Tool Kit', no matter the suffices.

I think the problem here is "GTKRadiant" is not "GTK", any more than any of the other apps pre-fixed with "GTK" are.

And to fix GTKRadiant, try following the appropriate guide on: http://tremmapping.pbwiki.com/

EDIT: Also I'm worried that you joined 12 days before me and yet have > 150 posts, calm down.

those points are nothing i think the max is 400 anyhow

again the PROBLEM IS NOT GTKR. ITS THE FILES FROM

http://tremmapping.pbwiki.com/GtkRadiant1_4-Win32

I MEARLY DISCOVERED THIS IN GTKR. GTKR WORKS FINE IN QUAKE 3, wolfenstien, quake 2, Jedi Knight 1 and 2 and others, why!?? becuase they came with it!! trem didn't. the objects appear but they are all white so the issue is in those files

This mule-headedness boggles my mind.
What is this mislabled thread good for?

No question, just a garbled statement.

This thread should be closed & moved into the bozo bin as it has nothing to with either GTK nor with tremulous itself. I am quite certain that there is somewhere a place where this whining would be apreciated .)

Now we can talk :)

What version of GTKRadiant are you using, did you install it systemwide or just for a user, does this user have read-access to the trem-files?

What version of _GTK_ are you using, with which parameters did you compile the progs?

Did you remember to strip all source an configs of the windows-cr/lf?

Edited as putting up another post would be senseless...

Now, why would one use the older instead of the newer version?

Don't. For all purposes, you should remove all Quake 3 assets before making a tremulous map. Do NOT use Quake 3 textures.
