are there any good shader sites?
there are plenty of plain texture sites. but i want to find shaders

Learn how to write a shader and bam, with those textures you get from those websites, you can do whatever you want. All you have to do is look up how to write shaders. You don't need them handed to you as well.

well i know how to use alpha layers but how would i make somthing only half transparent

There is a shader manual incorporated in gtkradiant under help>general>shader manual.
