Problem with Comodo Firewall
« on: August 05, 2006, 11:30:09 am »
Under windows XP I can't start Tremulous with Comodo firewall running.

If I turn its settings to minimal and leave it running, Tremulous will work, but if I activate the security settings at all - no dice.

What happens is the games trys to start, starts the Q3 console and hangs.

The screen brightness has been altered but nothing else shows up on screen.  I can't kill the window, or the process or anything - requires me to restart WinXP.

Makes me love my Ubuntu box that little but more :)

Any ideas?

Get rid of your firewall, personal fw are of no use imho, except to produce more errors :)

Alternatively you might try to conf your fw thusly that the required ports are not being blocked.

amen to that
just think - if you can install software firewall  ANY malware can uninstal/stop it/go around it. It will NEVER work in crap OSes without proper user profiles (M$ ones that is)
