Interesting Human Weapon Sets/ Alien Tactics
« on: April 27, 2011, 03:55:22 pm »
Some interesting combonations I've seen/used for humans:
Painsaw/Lightarmor/Helmet- I've used it, actually. You basically run around the map raping goons by outmanuevering them and hacking them to bits.
Lucifire Cannon/No Armor whatsoever- This guy was CHEAP, man.
Mass Driver/battlesuit- Not that unoriginal, just I've never seen that combination before.
helmet/blaster- No ckit, JUST a blaster.

The ONLY Interesting alien tactic I've ever seen:
Dretch Cannon. Goons would bite dretches to launch them at humans. It was kinda wierd.

Lucifire Cannon/No Armor whatsoever-On the contrary, an easy way to lose 600 credits.
Mass Driver/battlesuit-The chainsuit is far more effective for only 50 credits more.
helmet/blaster-They were probably carrying another weapon.

Dretch Cannon-Mostly unintentional, I presume.

I suggest a tyrant, replacing every leg and arm of it with painsaws, also it should be able squirt alien spawns and of course it can breathe fire.

 :P

oh wait, does it have to be a useful suggestion?

Coco is great, I remember when he was terrible.
He is great at building, and overall is very valuable.

Yea coco is beast at building.  I remember in pulse last week.  I I tried building away from base entrance before we all got slaughterd.  And ofcource we did.  And all but coco didn't die and he built a new base somewhere else around map.
Who knows how he survived.

I wish he knew English, I've got a few tips I'd like to give him. I've gotten really good at building, and I'd like swap ideas with him.
It's so rare to find good builders, he is definitely one of them.

For an easy win : Ask Kharnov to join humans or aliens => join the opposite team. GG.

Other interesting alien tactics:

1 - the node-blocking dretch.

When the humans are too distracted by things blowing up around them in addition to rants, goons and maras chomping their asses off, they usually forget to kill that annoying albeit effective little dretch that's sitting comfortably on the last remaining node.

2. - the wall-spitting granger.

I'm only guessing here that they do it to fool humans into thinking there's a trapper where the spit stains are so that they waste their ammo. Rarely works though since the spit doesn't stay there for very long.

Node blocking dretches work very well in ATCS.
That's why I build turrets right when I spawn.

I've enjoyed the bsuit and pulse combo for dretches yet it can take out large game.
Chainsuits are good however pulse rifles nail dretches because of it's splash damage.

Pulse rifle doesn't have splash damage (although that could be a nice thing).

rifflesuit is great setup, especially if there are two teamed up. Most rants/goons when notice that their opponent carries such equipment will think "look, another easy one" and wont expect you to dodge. Rantslaying beast.

Here is a story that should explain how to be succesful at Tremulous. These fine words were given to me by an old sage. This is how it goes :

They (the aliens) told him (the naked rifle) don't you ever come around here (alien's base). Don't wanna see your face (buy a helmet or a bsuit), you better disappear (you better hide and stay behind your friends). The fire's in their eyes (The aliens) and their words are really clear (they'll fuck you up big times).

You better run, you better do what you can. Don't wanna see no blood, don't be a macho man (don't rush in every rooms). You wanna be tough, better do what you can (better not count on your toughness). So beat it, but you wanna be bad (and you are).

Just beat it, beat it, beat it, beat it. No one wants to be defeated (their hearts will pump to adrenaline). Showin' how funky and strong is your fight (fancy moves aren't always the best). It doesn't matter who's wrong or right (having the right technic doesn't mean you'll win, so there's no perfect players)

Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it
Just beat it, beat it

This is what the sage told me, then he made a super vocal solo and I left his mountain.
