Ubuntu server
« on: May 20, 2011, 12:35:19 pm »
I was thinking about installing ubuntu server edition on my old computer so that i could have a Tremulous server.
I was wondering if anyone could go step by step of the download and tell me what to click for a Tremulous server or a Gamer server
thanks

That would be quite complicated. Ubuntu makes it easier, but there are quite a few steps to building your own tremulous server.  A click through would be hard to give when we don't know anything about your system's setup. The entire process involves a basic knowledge of networking and possibly compiling the tremulous source.

If you're talking about APT here, Tremulous from the repos often doesn't work like it's supposed to do.
There is no click-through, though you can first try installing the server from repos (I don't know if it's in the tremulous package, or some other that's named something like 'tremulous-dedicated').
That's the easiest solution (unless you hope to troubleshoot any errors).
Also, I'm ought to ask, what is your network's configuration? Do you have a router/modem/whatever there is between you and the internets? Do you know how to forward ports?

You make up Qrntz, u always angry, just calmdown. :police:
