UI help

Man, look at all these troubleshooting stuff i've been posting... gee....

My tremulous programs are heavily modded, using opticz hud/menu, tremfusion, and some custom hud for gpp, but that doesn't matter. Opticz's hud was interfearing with Tremfusion, so i scrapped that after uninstalling it, then tremfusion runs normally... until i re-open the program. When i opened it, each time it kept reffering to opticz's visual mod, so i just simply autoexec the uninstalllfile of opticz thing. But then another problem when i re-opened it the next time, is that i can't connect to a NORMAL server (with no custom HUDs or UIs) and says "Can't find ui/help.txt. Then it exits back to the main menu. Is there a download section where i can simply download the ui/help.txt file by itself?

but that doesn't matter.
The most wrong line in the entire post.
Actually, I'm having the problem with connecting to Brindus when having the k-otic's laser dot and someone's (don't remember who released it) HUD, too. Cannot recall the exact file not found, but I suspect it was ui.qvm or something alike.
But it's completely fine on any other server.
EDIT: It's actually 'VM_Create on UI failed'. The error throws me out of Tremulous completely. F50, any input on why this may be happening?
Code: [Select]
----- finished R_Init -----
Loading vm file vm/ui.qvm...
Failed.
Failed to find a valid UI vm. The following paths were searched:
----- CL_Shutdown -----
----- FS_Startup -----
Cmd_AddCommand: which already defined
----------------------
restoring mouse acceleration to: 0.687500
-----------------------
VM_Create on UI failed
Also, figures I use superpie's HUD.

Eh, Erm. It didn't search any paths for a UI vm? That's not good. That is *really* not good.

I have actually had VM_Create on UI failed errors when going to US1. It only happens when using a custom HUD and there are new vm pk3s to download. Downloading the pk3s, connecting, then re-enabling your HUD, and reconnecting worked for me though. If that doesn't work, getting rid of excess pk3s/vms always works. I really should say that by far the easiest way to get onto brindus is to manually http download the sound files (the other files should be fine to download using the trem client) from http://modrotation.mercenariesguild.net/downloads/brindus/ . Trem appears to have some trouble with http downloading large files. Perhaps I should submit a bug, but I really don't know how repeatable it is or any useful information about it.

AFAIK all of those unable to connect to brindus have had those problems due to the sound pk3.

"cannot find ui/help.txt" on the other hand, sounds like you're missing data-1.1.0.pk3. Verify that you have it first.
