Basilisk killer?
« on: August 08, 2006, 02:40:37 am »
Well when i realized that battle suits are invurnable to gas and aim helding i got pretty pissed off to that. it like totaly ruins my day when i play as basilisk. Mayby that is anoying to me beacouse I am owning people with it and can't even touch or poison gas battle suited human. ofcource you could add flame breath to it on third stage like Super Basilisk. Or just seperate it to gas mask and battle suit that wont have poison resist.

I would also like to see something that can fly on alien side.

The developers have many times before said the following:
NO. FLYING. ALIENS.

Yes, let's have fire breathing Basilisks.. HOW ABOUT NOT?!

Dustin, you're a complete moron, and I agree... i think there should be something thats Flying, but on the other side, i think Tyrants not all other aliens, but big ones like Dragoon and Tyrant, have head shots. Like you can hit them in the head...and do more damage then body. That might even things out a bit.

whitebear, I don't see the problem, just because _YOU_ can't kill a BS real quick does not mean your _TEAM_ can not.
You gotta change tactics when encountering BS, that's all.

As a dretch I can't kill flames. Theres hard combos: dretch vs flame, basilisk vs bs with lucy. Get over it and save for adv mara.

NO one EVER said its INTENDED to 0WN with all the classes all other classes, because this would be pointless and disturbing.

It IS inteded to have DIFFERENT classes with DIFFERENT abbilities that PWN other stuff.

I hope anyone UNDERSTOOD that NOW!

And: NO FLYING ALIENS!!!!

I'm only telling him things that have been stated before.. The balance is fine, and, well, fire-breathing basilisks are out of the question because the aliens are more poison-oriented than, y'know, human-toasting..

Lol@ flying aliens.... there needs to be a sticky, or in the faq somewhere that says NO FLYING ALIENS.
I do think basi and dretch have it rough later on against S2 and definately S3 humans... but maybe that means you should work on getting better with another alien like the mara or dragoon if you can't do it with the basi or dretch.. or you can devote yourself to becoming a basi master and not worry about making it shoot fire, or learning something else... i don't know how.. but i've heard its possible.. think it has something to do with monks.... or the devil...

The problem is, some players think that if they loose a lot, the problem lies within the balance or the game dynamics, they will never first look at themselves.

Its ironic how the bible is right here:

"dont search for the splinter in the eye of your brother till you find the log in your own eye!"

There is a sticky!  The "frequent suggestions" sticky has NO FLYING ALIENS in it when someone asks for it.

Guys! (and women)
They are just suggesion that have nothing to do with balance or fixing it. I never sed that I would like to get 'em all. They are just things I would love to see. There is no reason to be so offencive. Gosh! The community has realy changed since stand-alone release.
And if you think that I am some how bad playing as alien you should see me play instead of looking my number of posts or just thinking me as a n00b or something. I simply love to attack lonely wondering humans who are looking for alien base and attack em behind and hold them until they die in gas or by my swiping claws.

I simply like to see radical changes. In my opinion s3 forces the game to go too fast beacouse tyrant and bs steps in. I love all other aliens but basilisk is best exept against grouped humans or bs.

THIS ~> Kills THIS

Dretch ~> Stupid Human
Basalisk ~> Another stupid human
Marauder ~> Jumpity Jump, head cut fump... Average Human (NOT PULSE LAz0r)
Dragoon ~> An armorless but armed idiot
Advanced Basalisk ~> Anything but a Bullshit Suited Human
Advanced Dragoon ~> Pulsy Laser Human
Tyrant ~> Almost anything that doesnt fly too high

Pulse is not than dangerous. Is slow and you can jump around waiting a reload, or whatever. The guy will waste the ammo, other aliens will come, and then the guy will flee panicked = DEAD.

Lasergun on good hands can be dangerous. And If other human comme...Is you that can flee panicked = DEAD.

in my very humble opinion.

More like:
Basilisk~> anything grabbed from behind without a bsuit, hand grenade, jetpack, lucy, or teammates nearby.

gasing jetpack humans is fun :D

Slave|Miez: Depends on what do you call "pro" server? I rather find low ping server than have major lag in your "pro" server. Also I rather go on servers with regular players that knows what team work means and talks more than "lol" after each kill of it's own.

Who in his right mind would buy a jetpack before buying armor and helmet ? Change that in "Gasing noob jetpack humans is fun"

Well in atcs when human comes from the base doorway to the main area, I jump on him and gas it before he is too high. Then they simply stay on the ground.

Humans with helmet and light armor are immune to basilisk gaz. Helmet alone should be sufficient IIRC.

90% of all humans using jetpacks are noobs who think flying around atcs trying to hit aliens is productive. the other 10% are builders. pretty much the only time i would prefer a jetpack to a bsuit or battpack is during an egghunt/grangerhunt.
edit: i've killed many people who saved for a pulse rifle but didn't buy a helmet way too easily, and once i pounced a (full health) human with a luci and killed him :D. the lesson? never underestimate how stupid people can be.

Wizards first rule : "People are stupid"

Anyway, it's true that sometimes it is worth doing those weird tactics, most of the time you die and lose evo points that would have been better used for other purposes.
