q3 engine is not designed for large areas(you can do but needs more optimizing else lag)
subsequently large vehicles wont be good... maybe mech( but we have BS)
However stationary armanent would be good(I mean map specific you cant build them) It will allow different gameplays for different maps.
aliens in tremulous are inspired by arachnids
so they cant fly. They can wallwalk, jump.
