The best way.

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering what the best way to get admin on US1 was, yes I know to be nice and friendly to everyone is one thing, but I don't know if that is really how you get admin. I'm not much of a genius, so I wouldn't be able to do much tech stuff but if you need an admin who just wants to be around the community and help with whatever is needed, I'm right her for you (Not trying to be a pet here..). I just want to try and help the community the best I can. I wouldn't just be a person who just wants to be the server admin! The man with all the power.. Feedback is much appreciated.

If you're not a douche and you're a regular, I'm sure you could get away with asking for level 1. Level one, however, is only name protection. If US1 is in need of admins and you're a decent player (but more importantly, a decent person), one of the admins will pick up on it and you'll probably get adminned. Try doing admin-like duties; report players who are being dickheads and the like. Or just do their coffee and muffin runs. Other than that, there's no sure-fire way to get admin. I'll tell you what you DON'T want to do, though: don't ask about getting admin, and certainly don't do it more than once. That will just get you on the "do not admin" list.

Adminning (moderating) is kind of like a job in the respect that you need to be active, but you also need to be needed. No one's going to hire you if they've got a full staff already. Keep that in mind.

EXCEPTION: Nobody cares about level 1, as it's not actually an admin and doesn't do anything but give you name protection. You can ask an admin on the server for that. If they recognize your name, and they are high enough to give it to you, they probably will. Do do not post threads here about it.

Note: If you are here to ask for admin on some server that is not official us 1 or official eu 1, you are not in the right place and need to contact whoever runs those servers to find out their policy (check the servers section of this message board).

Admin sounds fun and probably has some benefits but honestly do you want to play hours of trem every day to earn it?
That's a sure fire way, playing 4 hours every day, not being anything but helpful and such.
The only way I'd like  to earn it is to stick around for a few more years and spend my 20 minutes every day or two.

keep your admin shit.  i dont want to have to deal with that kind of thing while playing a game.  i dont know why anyone would, really.

admin is not something you are supposed to want.  it's a thankless job that usually gets you nothing but hate

Denybuild vote from 1.1 builder for 'noob buld'. Watching people trying to kick ddos/warlock for aimbotting is also HILARIOUS to watch. And, from what I've noticed, there aren't THAT many situations that require admin intervention, and even if one happen, you really can sacrifice those few evos to join specs and see if that guy is really bleeding, or not. Fair game is worth it IMO (well it's also great feeling to kick someone, too).

Oh, and it's great to abuse admin powers (gt does it all the time  :-\ :-\ :-X >:( :'( >:( :-[ :'( :laugh: )
