I believe it's hard to separate the banks from the government of most occidental countries nowadays. But I was mainly saying that Belgium is stuck in the European union (E.U.) mostly because there's a European parliament in Bruxelles. Also, because the europeist are still having an impact in Belgium (Belgium's still in the E.U., they still have to obey special rules (monetary rules, etc.)) and the europeist are trying to surpass national independence by making the decisions taken by the E.U. more important. Hell, if Belgium want to be independent, I suggest it gets ready for revolution (and this includes leaving E.U.).
